This Year's Highlights

  • Chromatin has synthesized hundreds of chromosomes, delivering them intact to plants where research shows the genes are inherited and properly expressed through multiple generations of important crops, like corn.
  • Chromatin has received a Notice of Allowance from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for broad claims for mini-chromosomes in all plants.
  • Chromatin initiated a three-year collaboration with the University of Illinois for optimizing soybean mini-chromosomes. This project is funded by a $1 million grant from the Illinois Soybean Association.

Anticipated Highlights

  • Chromatin anticipates announcing a significant collaboration with a major corporate partner in the fourth quarter of 2006.

Corporate Mission

Chromatin, Inc. is a commercialization phase company dedicated to utilizing its landmark technology to enable the design and delivery of entire bio-engineered chromosomes in plants, eliminating a crucial bottleneck in the agricultural biotech product development cycle.

Chromatin?s gene delivery method represents a quantum leap over traditional techniques which measure success in single gene increments and have yet to produce a commercial crop containing more than three new genes. Chromatin has confirmed that its technology offers strong competitive advantages for potential partners, including: precise gene delivery, accelerated time-to-market, reduced cost of product development, and the unique opportunity for simultaneously introducing multiple genes.

Our goal is to apply our proprietary technology to a wide variety of attractive markets, such as enhancing the production of biofuels, developing improved agricultural crops and forest products, and enabling more efficient plant-based production of organic compounds, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

Chromatin is currently engaging several industry-leading agricultural biotech companies to help them deliver their trait genes into key crops and rapidly bring new, high-value products to market.
